This poem by Walter de la Mare is a warm reminder of the feel of winter and all the wonders that it brings with it.
Winter
Clouded with snow
The cold winds blow,
And shrill on leafless bough
The robin with its burning breast
Alone sings now.
The rayless sun,
Day's journey done,
Sheds its last ebbing light
On fields in leagues of beauty spread
Unearthly white.
Thick draws the dark,
And spark by spark,
The frost-fires kindle, and soon
Over that sea of frozen foam
Floats the white moon.
I try to get inspiration from all that is around me, I currently live in Malaysia where it never snows or even gets cold, but for most of my life I have lived in places where I experiences harsh winters and snow fall up to my knees. I try to put all my experiences together to get the best inspirations, these are a few of the cards I have made recently that have sense of winter and at times a tropical winter.
